03.01.12 ‘DOORBELLS AND SLEIGHBELLS AND SCHNITZEL WITH NOODLES’ – Maria von Trapp

Sorry, what I should be saying is HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Now to kick off 2012 I am starting a new studio project;
My Favourite Things
Created as a process to keep me drawing regularly, the project really just allows me indulge in staring lovingly at all my favourite things. We get things going with my favourite new tea cup. I'll be adding another favourite thing ASAP as my tea cup looks a little lonely on its own!   – LINA

Welcome to THE A TO Z OF THINGS I CAN SEE FROM MY COUCH.

I recently began a small personal project, primarily to make use of the many offcuts of wood that were lying around. I had been spending a bit of time looking at the many nonsense alphabets that Edward Lear created, comparing the different rhymes and images, and thought it might be interesting to create my own alphabet. I decided that I would make create this alphabet from the nonsense around me. Living in a shoebox apartment often equates to a fair bit of nonsense, so I should be pretty well right for material. That said I do find myself wandering around the shops looking for things that start with the letters X and Q so that I can plant them on my desk or in the bookcase.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

I will keep you all posted as this one progresses.  – LINA

08.10.11 I DECIDED TO TAKE ON A LITTLE RENOVATION

Welcome to the new website. I may have taken on a new studio name, but its still Caroline working inside. Initially, the urge to put a bird on it was indeed immense, however I happily managed to refrain.
Take a look around and don't forget to check out the new splashback in the kitchen.  – LINA
